Naomi is 5 months old!
Naomi, today you are 5 months old!
Weighing in at 15 lbs 2 oz, 25.75" (65cm) tall
(Roughly 65% for weight, 75% for height compared to babies her age)
As I was preparing to speak about adoption at a training meeting tonight, I thought back through the many miracles that brought you all the way from Indonesia in Juliza's tummy to our arms. I was filled with awe and with gratitude.
At five months...
- You can roll from back to tummy and from tummy to back... in fact, you are a rolling maniac! I put you down on the blanket in my office this afternoon while I was typing and turned around to see that you had rolled right across the room. Watch out world, here comes Naomi.
- You have this funny giggle-snort that is really hard to get out of you, but when you laugh it is really delightful!
- You've learned how to turn book pages... though half the time I think you have an ulterior motive... "must make mom think I'm turning the book pages so that I can get them into my mouth when she's not looking!"
- You are learning how to sit up... pretty wobbily, but you are getting there.
- You've discovered your toes and man are they tasty! (Mommy can't stop kissing them!)
- You like to give mommy and daddy "kisses" on our cheeks. We just have to make sure there is a towel to wipe ourselves off with after you're done drooling on our faces.
- You love mommy's hair... running your fingers through it, guiding it into your mouth, and pulling it a little too hard into your mouth.
- Your hands are good at picking up what they want and moving it where they want it to go... namely your mouth. EVERYTHING goes to your mouth.
- You are the drool queen. Bet we could fill three tall glasses with your slobber every day! At first I was always wiping myself down... now I'm just used to being wet.
- You have new brown highlights in your hair up on top from he sun... it is really pretty against your shiny beautiful black hair.
- You had a good time going to dinner with Juliza and grandma Christina and their friends this month. You were very intrigued by Liza's glasses. We sure love them!
