Birthday Week

We have a tradition of celebrating birthdays for an entire week at our house. It began because we were always traveling on Mark's birthday and either didn't celebrate it properly or had to celebrate it another day. Then we progressed to celebrating it multiple times with family and friends and soon it became "birthday week". So don't feel bad if you don't catch us on our birth day. We'll be celebrating all week!

Naomi had a happy and somewhat quiet birthday on Monday. We opened a few gifts, went to Matsumotos for shave ice and hung the traditional birthday balloons. There's something so magical about waking up in the morning and seeing balloons hung all around the house. Naomi was in heaven!

We invited friends over to celebrate with us on Saturday and Naomi had a splendid time playing with her little (and big) friends, opening gifts (thanks for your generosity, guys!), and eating cake. Real cake... with icing. She loved it. And I loved watching her delight. I love being mom.
