Venturing out

Yesterday the girls and I ventured out later in the day to see how things were looking after the storm. It was awesome to see most of the community out helping each other - to reroute flood waters, clear drainage canals, clean out flooded homes and help in any way they can.

Today was breezy which really helped to dry things out. The water has gone down a lot and with so many helping hands working together to clean up, there are relatively few signs of the flooding that took place less than 2 days ago (except in the worst hit areas and a few remaining field lakes that will take time to go down). Oh! And did you hear that besides the lemon-sized hail (in Hawaii??), Kaneohe also got hit by a tornado! Pretty happy we didn't see that action in our community.
