He Is Risen!

Thomas S. Monson has put into words the feelings of my heart:

"No words in Christendom mean more to me than those spoken by the angel to the weeping Mary Magdalene and the other Mary when, on the first day of the week, they approached the tomb to care for the body of their Lord. Spoke the angel:
"Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen"

Luke 24: 5-6

I am filled with emotion when I read this account in the scriptures.
I feel hope. I feel joy. I feel an overwhelming love and gratitude for my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

He lives.

On Friday the girls and I pulled out the clay and made our own representation of the garden tomb. Kalea helped make the pathway, bird's nest and eggs. Naomi made Jesus and helped mold the tomb.

We talked of the Savior's last days, His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the last supper, His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, His betrayal, and the crucifixion. As we talked about how he forgave those who crucified Him I could see in Naomi a change of heart - that it is ok to forgive when we have been wronged, even if the offender is not sorry.

We wrapped the little clay Jesus in clean white linens, laid him in the tiny tomb, and rolled the stone across the entrance.

This morning the tomb is empty.

The linens carefully folded.
The flowers have bloomed.
And Kalea's eggs have hatched.
There is new life.

Because of Him.

Happy Easter.
