Choosing life. Choosing adoption

This is a touching story about adoption from Tamra, a birthmother who we heard from at our Families Supporting Adoption Conference this last August. Please watch and share it with others to help understand the perspectives, peace and joy that can come from adoption. If you have a hard time hearing her because of the background noise, Seth Smith has published Tamra's story (with her permission) on his blog or you can hear her tell her story on ItsAboutLove.org.

If You Are Pregnant...

Its not uncommon to feel that your only options are abortion or raising your child on your own. There are other options; and the decision is yours.

No one else will live daily with your decision, which is why no one else can make this decision for you.

The best thing you can do for you and your future child is to educate yourself about your options and feel confident that you have found the solution that is right for you and most importantly, for your baby.

If you would like more information about services for birthparents, including adoption, you can call LDS Family Services toll free: 800-537-2229 or visit their website at: http://www.itsaboutlove.org. Their services (which are free and confidential) can include:

  • Information about marriage, adoption, and parenting
  • Individual counseling and group meetings
  • Temporary housing for birthmothers who wish to relocate during their pregnancy
  • Help in identifying educational needs and resources
  • Medical and legal support.

Adoption changes lives forever. I thank the Lord every day for the blessing of Naomi's birthmother and her family. She is an angel who will forever have my gratitude and love.

I love you "Yiza" (as omi says it). -stacey
