Hey mom, look what I made!
DOLLIES!
One for a very sweet little friend, the other for baby Emmy, her new little sister, and one for Naomi.
After I finished the first two, I let Naomi choose the fabrics and colors she wanted for her dolly. We picked out the body color and when I gave her the choice between black or brown hair, she chose brown (because that's what color her hair is? .... the other day the three of us were playing on the floor in her room in front of the mirror and talking about hair. I asked her what color daddy's hair was. She looked at it, felt it, thought about it and then declared that it was black. We asked her what color mommy's hair was and after touching it and thinking about it, she decided it was brown. When I asked her what color Naomi's hair was, she looked in the mirror, ran her hands through it and told us it was brown. Haha.)
Anyway, she chose the fabrics for the dresses (and of course they match Hannah's exactly) and helped me stuff the arms, legs and body to make her dolly. I'm not sure it will ever be loved quite as much as the dolly Kimi made her for Christmas, which she drags everywhere with her, but at least now Dolly will have a friend!
I purchased the pattern from Bit of Whimsy Dolls, which made it a much more manageable task. My hands are hurting, but I'm completely pleased with myself... for stacey, this was a huge accomplishment. I made three dolls AND doll clothes! happy sigh. I'm so proud of me. ;)
